I knew from the Uber driver that some great festivities will take place in Kuala Lumpur, as the Tamil people are preparing for Thaipusam, an important Hindu festival.
Later I saw all over Kuala Lumpur undergoing preparations for the festivities. The biggest ones were set to take place at the Batu Caves, but unfortunately for me, after my departure from Malaysia. However, I still had the chance to buy from there some delicious Indian sweets. Coconut colored in red, yummy.
In my last night in Malaysia, as I was preparing to go to bed, I decided to go to 7/11 to buy water. To my surprise, just in front of the store some exciting festivities, which included dancing with a flame of fire on one’s head, were taking place.
Soon people gathered there by hundreds, and, like most of them, I received a box of soymilk.
I captured the moment on video, and I’m inviting you all to check it out below. Just like that time when I was in Varanasi, I’ve noticed that the Indians surely know how to gather crowds with their songs. It really felt great to be there and assist the celebrations.
